You are avoiding your finances and it’s time to stop. Financial avoidance can look all kinds of ways. You might be underearning. You might have money but know the way you’re handling it is chaotic. You might be stuck in the same frustrating cycles over and over again. You might have a negative relationship with Money itself, avoiding your work on reconciling that relationship. If your money tasks always fall to the bottom of your to-do list, you are financially avoidant.
Gregorian New Year is full of willpower ethic lies- just “try harder”, “be more disciplined”, dominate your self into getting it right this time. Download the budgeting app again, dust off the same old strategies, make this year the year you somehow become a different “better” person through sheer will.
You definitely CAN become a different person this year, and completely change your relationship with Money, but it will take a completely new strategy, teacher, and community. You have to try something different to get different results.
